Sindri secured a place in the playoff for a place in the top division of men’s basketball next season with an away win over Selfoss tonight, 96:95.
Sindri won the match 3:1 and will face Breiðabliki in a clear final match for a place in the league of the best.
Selfoss was in control for a large part of the game and the score was 95:87 with 88 seconds left.
Then Sindri jumped into action because the visitors scored the last nine points of the game from three three-point baskets.
Srdan Stojanovic proved to be the hero because he scored the winning basket nine seconds before the end of the game.
Gísli Þórarinn Hallsson was Sindra’s top scorer with 28 points and Jason Gigliotti scored 21. Steven Lyles scored 34 for Selfoss.
