Residents of Slovenia are among the most satisfied in the union. They rate their lives with an average of 7.7 on a scale of ten, which puts them in second place. Citizens of Romania have the same result.
In first place is Finland with an average rating of 7.8.
Employment and income
Employment in Slovenia for people aged between 20 and 64 reaches 78.3% – above the EU average. It is highest in Malta (83.6%), and lowest in Italy (67.6%).
Gross domestic product per capita in Slovenia is EUR 33,060, which remains below the EU average of EUR 41,600. For comparison, Luxembourg has a nearly four times higher indicator, while Bulgaria is among the countries with the lowest.
Social differences
Slovenia is among the countries with the lowest risk of social exclusion – 14.4%. Only the Czech Republic has a better result with 11.3%.
The highest share of people at risk of poverty and social exclusion is again reported in Bulgaria – 30.3%.
Slovenia has been a member of the EU since 2004 and has just over 2.1 million inhabitants. Over 450 million people live in the entire European Union.
