BSP Samoa| BSP Samoa customers and merchants are now enjoying faster, and seamless transactions, thanks to BSP’s upgraded EFTPoS terminals.
As part of the bank’s ongoing modernisation journey, BSP Group CEO Mark Robinson said BSP is strengthening its core infrastructure as part of its K1.2 billion modernisation for growth program.
”This includes upgrading technology and improving how we manage, monitor, and deliver services to our customers. The rollout of our new EFTPoS platform is a key component of this effort,” Mr Robinson said.
The EFTPoS upgrade has seen the older terminals replaced with new Verifone (V660P 4G) terminals in Samoa since February this year.

BSP Samoa Country Head TunumafonoJennifer Ula-Fruean said this upgrade has resulted in shorter wait times, efficient transactions, and a better payment experience for both merchants or business operators and customers.
“We have replaced over 370 EFTPoS terminals in Samoa. Across the Pacific we have upgraded close to 7,000 EFTPoS terminals in PNG, Tonga and Cook Islands.

This rollout will continue in Solomon Islands, Fiji and Vanuatu this year. The BSP Group has over 10,000 EFTPoS terminals in the market,” Mrs Fruean added.
BSP is committed to strengthening digital payments, supporting local businesses, and delivering reliable banking services to communities across Samoa

BSP have secured sufficient EFTPoS terminal stock to support merchant upgrades and new installations for the next three years.
The new V660P 4G EFTPoS terminal has improved technology designed to make payments easier and more dependable.
The Key features include:

• 4G connectivity for faster transaction processing
• Wi-Fi support for flexible and stable connections
• Dual SIM cards (Vodafone and Digicel) to reduce network downtime
• Disability-friendly design for improved accessibility
• Enhanced security and performance
