Leonor Caldeira, lawyer, feminist, is the guest of the third episode of podcast What to do when everything burns. With Leonor, we discussed the oppression of beauty that young women today experience with much greater burden than their grandmothers. The increase in the cosmetic surgery industry, diets and supplements for very young women shows that in feminism we are also facing a regression. Or are we at the same point, as Leonor Caldeira says, where “the ability to seduce men is what dictates a woman’s value”. Capitalism found a niche there that was still little explored in the 1980s.
Listen to previous episodes of podcast:
Ricardo Araújo Pereira: “My grandmother established parameters that make me have very low self-esteem”
Jorge Moreira da Silva: “We will all be judged on what we did or didn’t do in Gaza”
