One day after the murder that shocked the citizens of Sarajevo, new details about the crime and the movements of the suspect are revealed, they write the Bosnian media.
Elma Godinjak, a 41-year-old journalist, was killed yesterday, and Tarik Prusac, with whom she was married and they have a five-year-old daughter, is suspected of her murder.
The Sarajevo police received a complaint about the use of firearms in Dobrinja on May 1, around 4:15 p.m. After the arrival of emergency services, the body of the murdered woman was found, and an intensive search ensued that lasted several hours.
While the police blocked off the neighborhood of Dobrinja, where the murder took place, and searched the area, according to Bosnian media, the suspect was moving freely around the city. At one point, he even headed to the center of Sarajevo. He was allegedly with his daughter, whom he took with him to Bashcarshija, where they ate kebabs. He was located there, and then arrested in the Stari Grad area shortly after 7 p.m.
According to the media, the girl was found unharmed and is under the supervision of professional services.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton, publishes “Jutarnji list”, confirmed that Prucac was arrested and will be handed over to their jurisdiction during the day.
Prusac, according to the media, worked as a security guard and allegedly killed the victim with shots from his service pistol, which he was not allowed to carry outside of working hours. Although there were reports earlier that the brother of the murdered woman was also injured, the police denied this information.
The lawyer of the murdered woman, Elmedina Bojicic, told the media that the two are in the process of divorce, but also that Elma was afraid for her life. She added that Elma reported him to the police several times for stalking and stalking, and at the moment, a restraining order was in effect against the murdered.
“He was not violent. He scared her with his strange behavior. He kept following her in his vehicle. She felt unsafe,” the lawyer said, adding that Elma’s colleagues followed her home from work.
Police say the investigation into the circumstances of this incident is still ongoing.
