The incident that caused Lucía Karg to die occurred on the night of March 27 at the El Patio restaurant, located at 500 San Martín Street. The explosion occurred due to implosion of 45 kilo gas pipes. This led to a large fire in the place.

Minutes after the explosion, an extensive police operation was deployed which included Volunteer Firefighters, ambulances and municipal personnel to control the situation and assist those affected, the media indicated. The Coast.
The explosion left four people injured. One woman was discharged a few days later, while three others were hospitalized in critical conditionamong whom was Karg, who also worked there.
The other two injured were identified as Martin Kloster43 years old -owner of the place-, and Nicolas Conci, 25, who worked as a waiter, who was transferred to the Central Military Hospital of Buenos Aires on March 30 and is out of danger.
For its part, Kloster remains in critical condition due to lung failure. “A very big explosion was heard,” several witnesses noted after the explosion and the rekindling of the fire.
During the last month, the residents of Villaguay participated in solidarity events with the aim of helping the injured. The event was called “Everyone for the Patio” and had the participation of musicians and entrepreneurs to raise funds and thus collaborate with the recovery of the injured.
