Kyiv, 30. After several weeks of stalemate, a space seems to be opening up for the reopening of negotiations aimed at restoring peace to Ukraine. The Kremlin, through presidential spokesman Dmitrj Peskov, confirmed this morning the proposal for a truce for May 9, coinciding with the anniversary of “Victory Day” which celebrates the defeat of Nazi Germany in the Second World War. This proposal was also supported by the US president, Donald Trump, who had a long telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
