“Any threats from any state, including Russia, of course, are something we do not accept. This statement of fact only highlights and underscores the need for NATO to continue to remain the strongest military alliance,” former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with Niezalezna.pl.
A correspondent for Niezalezna.pl managed to put a question to the Norwegian politician during May Day celebrations in Oslo. The question focused on the senior official’s view of security on NATO’s eastern flank, including Poland’s security.
“We continue to support the principle on which NATO is founded, namely that an attack on one Ally is an attack on all Allies,” Stoltenberg emphasized.
“That is precisely what NATO’s success is based on. That is why we have been able to preserve peace and prevent any attack on any NATO member. Therefore, we firmly stress that any threats from any state, including Russia, are something we do not accept. This statement of fact only highlights and underscores the need for NATO to continue to remain the strongest military alliance,” the former NATO Secretary General said.
