What’s going to happen with Oscar Ramirez? That question was answered by the director of Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, León Weinstok, before the match against Puntarenas FC at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium.
The first thing he said is that Óscar Ramírez has the support of the institution and that is why he is in the club.
“We all know what Óscar is and he has asked for time to make a personal decision and analyze it for the benefit of the club. For now we are focused on the tournament, on the match, we are going to fight until the end. And as soon as the tournament ends we will see with him what is convenient and what is convenient with the institution,” said León Weinstok in Columbia.

Have you already communicated something? “I think it is a very particular situation because of the person in question and the institution we are in. Óscar is for the club and the club is for Óscar. With any other coach it is handled differently, but with him, calm down, it is an open dialogue,” he cited.
He also said that now a period is again open to work and to do preseason, because when the tournament is over there will be a space of around two months for the next season to begin.
“Change the arrangement a little and wait, have a frank dialogue, what the paper says with Óscar is not very relevant, when he started directing in those situations the contract was not formally signed and it was not an issue. That will be talked about at the time and it will be a frank conversation that he will have with Carlos Vela and it will be seen,” stressed León Weinstok.
While the leader spoke to the media with broadcasting rights, they asked him directly if José Saturnino Cardozo is the option in case Óscar Ramírez decides not to continue.
“At this moment there is a coach and no coaches are being tested in that sense. It is natural that this is in the environment, it would be hypocritical to deny the good tournament in Liberia, but at this moment, there is genuinely no certainty about Oscar’s desire to continue.
”And talking about any option would be hypothetical and it is a team that we play against on Sunday, it would be disrespectful to talk to them being Sunday’s rival,” responded León Weinstok.
