The president of the USA Donald Trump stated that he is not satisfied with Iran’s new proposal to resolve the conflict, adding that negotiations are ongoing through telephone contacts.
This stance confirms Washington’s continued mistrust of Iran’s proposals, as the US considers the issue of nuclear programwhich – according to American sources – is not adequately addressed by Tehran.
“We will not renounce our principles and values”
Iran sent a new proposal for negotiations with the US to Pakistani mediators yesterday, Thursday, Iranian state media reported earlier today.
However, the head of the judiciary in Iran, Golmahossein Mohseni Ejayclarified that Iran remains open to dialogue with the United Statesbut rejected any policy to be “imposed” by threat.
“The Islamic Republic has never shied away from negotiations (…) but we will certainly not accept someone imposing” a policy on us, Etjei said in a video broadcast on the judiciary website Mizan Online.
“We do not in any way approve of the war, we do not want the war, we do not want it to continue,” he added.
Etjei emphasized that Iran “is in no way willing to renounce its principles and values against this malicious enemy in order to avoid war or prevent its continuation.”
The president of the USA Donald Trump had warned for his part the day before yesterday, Wednesday, that the Iranians “would do well to think and quickly”.
