The President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, in a post on social networks, states that a political campaign has been launched against him in which his minor son is linked to, as he stated, an incident with which he has nothing to do.
The speech of Jovanović is transmitted in its entirety:
Regarding the monstrous lies and shameless insinuations that have been placed in the public, and which my minor son is trying to falsely connect with an incident with which he has nothing to do, I am obliged to address myself and clearly state that this is the lowest possible form of political and human dishonor.
This is not random misinformation. This is a knowingly constructed lie, targeted against me, through a brutal and cowardly attack on my child. Those behind this have consciously decided to cross every moral, human and legal boundary and to use a minor child as a means of political reckoning.
It is particularly scandalous and worrying that such constructions come from circles close to political structures, specifically from the ex-wife of an official of the New Serbian Democracy. Everything indicates that this is an orchestrated attack from the ranks of the New Serbian Democracy and the structures led by Andrija Mandić, with the clear aim of my political discredit.
This is not politics. This is an organized campaign of lies and an attempt at brutal discrediting without any scruples.
This is an unprecedented dirty campaign and a clear announcement of even more brutal attacks which, by all accounts, will be based solely on falsehoods, subterfuges and fabrications. When someone hits a child, it is clear that they are ready for anything.
I will be filing criminal charges and lawsuits against everyone who participated in creating, spreading and supporting this lie. Everyone will answer. Without exception.
At the same time, I am telling everyone behind this campaign that such constructions will not divert me from the path of political struggle. On the contrary, they are an additional motivation to continue even more decisively, even louder and without any compromise.
This is another proof that the ruling policies have hit rock bottom. When the political struggle is reduced to lies, subterfuge and attacks on children, it is clear that the system is deeply broken and requires radical changes.
I will not allow the truth to be suffocated with lies, nor will the family be used as a target for political lynching.
I call on the competent institutions to react urgently and protect the child who was abused in this shameful campaign, but also to prosecute all those responsible for spreading these falsehoods.
I am telling the citizens, the truth will come out. And those who tried to replace it with lies will face full responsibility.
I will defend my family, my reputation and the right to the truth by all the means allowed by law. And I will not stop in that fight.
In the end, I say clearly and without hesitation. The time has come to rid Montenegro of such practices, lies and political dishonesty. It is time for fundamental changes, for new energy and for politics that will not trample on families and children for the sake of individual interests. It’s time to get together, to resist this kind of system and to build Our Montenegro, a state of justice, truth and dignity where every child will be protected and every person free.
