He Ecuadorian army seized fuel and detained vehicles in an operation implemented in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
He noted that, within the framework of internal military operations aimed at combating illicit economies and strengthening security in the Amazon region, he carried out operations at kilometer 8 via Villano in the Pastaza canton and in the Macuma sector, Taisha canton, focused on the fight against illegal fuel trafficking.
Vehicles and fuel detained
During the interventions carried out in coordination with military intelligence information and through a weapons, ammunition and explosives control operation (CAMEX), a tanker-type vehicle and two truck-type vehicles were seized.
In addition, they seized 3,400 gallons of diesel and 600 gallons of gasoline.
Economic impact and commitment
The land force estimated that the economic impact on these illegal structures amounts to $164,000which – he specified – weakens its operational capacity and contributes to the protection of the country’s natural resources.
It reaffirmed its commitment to maintain permanent control and surveillance operations. (YO)
