SAN MARINO – On the occasion of Labor Day, Libera intends to celebrate this anniversary as a moment of reflection on the value of work and the challenges that await our country. Work represents dignity, autonomy and social cohesion. Today, in a context in which employment levels are among the highest in recent years, it becomes essential to shift attention not only to the quantity, but above all to the quality of work and future prospects.
Libera, through its presence in the institutions and the delegation to work, through the Secretariat of State led by Alessandro Bevitori, welcomes and supports with conviction the policies implemented in recent months, aimed at strengthening the protection of workers and making the system more modern and resilient.
In particular, a specific regulation has been introduced for the protection of workers during periods of intense heat, already operational from next summer, with the aim of preventing health risks in the workplace; attention was strengthened on the issue of accidents at work, focusing decisively on prevention, controls and the dissemination of a greater safety culture; we are working to develop active labor policies, capable of accompanying workers in the ongoing transformations, investing in training, retraining and new skills.
In an evolving job market, marked by technological innovation and the growing impact of artificial intelligence, it is necessary to build adequate tools for the jobs of the future. In this sense, Libera positively evaluates the project launched by the Secretariat aimed at strengthening the synergy between the University of the Republic of San Marino and the business system, with the aim of increasingly aligning training and the real needs of the labor market. Among the priorities for the coming months is to strongly support workplace inclusion, both in the public and private sectors. Libera reiterates its commitment to a bill on this topic, hoping that it can be discussed as soon as possible, to provide concrete answers and expand opportunities for everyone.
Particular attention must also be paid to women’s work. More and more women are working part-time, often to combine work and life. It is essential to further strengthen policies that encourage female employment, guarantee equal opportunities and fully enhance the contribution of women in the world of work.
Celebrating May 1st therefore means renewing a concrete commitment, continuing to build a fairer, safer and more inclusive work system, capable of looking to the future without leaving anyone behind. For this reason, Libera invites citizens to participate in a convivial moment of political discussion on the occasion of “Piantar Maggio”, on April 30th at 6:00 pm in the Torraccia Park. An opportunity to meet, discuss and share ideas on the present and future of work, in an open and participatory spirit.
