While a number of Bahamian athletes were in action at the 130th running of the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, over the weekend, others were in action at various other meets around the United States.
Quite a number of Bahamian collegians competed at the 116th Drake Relays at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Demetrius Rolle, a senior for the DePaul University Blue Demons, ran in the heats of the men’s 100 meters (m) and qualified for the final with the sixth-fastest time, but he did not line up for the final. Rolle ran a wind-aided 10.41 seconds in the heats.
Jayden Munroe, a sophomore for the Northern State University Wolves, competed in the men’s long and triple jump events. Munroe finished second in the long jump with a wind-aided leap of 7.62m (25’), and he was sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 14.48m (47’ 6-1/4”).
Kenny Moxey Jr., a sophomore for the University of Mary Marauders, was in action in the men’s decathlon and finished third overall with 7,086 points.
He scored significantly in the 100m, 110m hurdles, 400m, high jump and pole vault, placing in the top three in each event.
Ahmad Evans, a senior for the Park University Pirates, finished 16th overall in the men’s 100m in a wind-aided 10.82 seconds, he was 10th in the long jump with a leap of 6.98m (22’ 11”), and ninth in the triple jump competition with a distance of 14.03m (46’ 0-1/2”).
Over at the Mount Union Classic at the University of Mount Union’s Kehres Stadium in Alliance, Ohio, K’Leigh Davis showed her speed in the women’s 100m.
The Indiana Tech Warriors’ freshman won the women’s 100m in 11.95 seconds after running 12.04 seconds in the heats.
Kenzie Knowles, a junior for the St. Thomas University Bobcats, won the men’s 400m and placed second in the 800m at the Sun Conference Outdoor Championships at Southeastern University’s Tenoroc Track & Field Complex in Lakeland, Florida.
Knowles ran 47.10 seconds for the win in the 400m after running 48.15 seconds in the heats. He clocked 1:56.68 for second in the 800m after running 1:53.97 in the heats.
Koi Adderley, a sophomore for the University of the Wyoming Cowgirls, competed at Border Dual at the Jack Christiansen Memorial Track on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Adderley won the high jump competition with a clearance of 1.65m (5’ 5”) and finished fourth in the 100m in 12.65 seconds.
Antone Higgs, a senior for the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks, was in action at the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Colorado State University’s (CSU) Pueblo ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado.
Higgs was sixth in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 14.57m (47’ 9-3/4”) and 12th in the long jump with a distance of 6.64m (21’ 9-1/2”).
Madison Moss, a freshman for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Golden Lions, competed at the John McDonnell Invite at the University of Arkansas’ John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Moss finished 18th overall in the women’s 100m hurdles in 14.75 seconds.
Jade Ferguson, a freshman for the Bethel University Pilots, ran the women’s 100m at the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Extra Weekend Meet at the GVSU Lacrosse/Track & Field Stadium in Allendale, Michigan.
Ferguson finished 18th overall in that event in a wind-aided 12.54 seconds.
The outdoor track and field season for Bahamian collegiate athletes continues this upcoming weekend at various meets around the United States.
