    1. Labour Day celebrations

    What: Labour and cultures festival
    Where: Abbaye de Neümunster

    ALJP turns 100: A century of standing up for Luxembourg’s journalists

    Organised by the OGBL trade union, the Labour and cultures festival is a celebration of our workers, accompanied by music, plenty of food, and even a magic and acrobatics performances. It’s a great day out for all ages, with the event starting at 10am. The rally and speech held by Nora Back, president of OGBL, will be between 10.30am and 12pm, while concerts, shows, and exhibitions start from 12pm. Although it is a jubilant occasion, it is an event with a message and the OGBL is calling on its members to send a clear message to the government in a time of pressing issues. Grab a Mëttwurscht, have a beer, and support an important cause. Meanwhile, the LCGB trade union will be holding their event in Remich.

    2. Vineyard run or walk

    What: Beautiful run through Remich and Schengen’s vineyards
    Where: Domaine Goldbierg – Benoit & Claude
    When: Sunday, 3 May – more info here

    What better to do on a Sunday than to either take a leisurely stroll or run through some of Luxembourg’s most picturesque vineyards? 14km of the winding routes through Remich and Schengen’s wine district, with views onto the Moselle river. Throughout the trail there will be five stops, each offering exclusive wine tastings of some of Luxembourg’s best wines accompanied by local winemakers including snacks as well. To top it all off there will also be live music along the route.

    3. Wild plants as food

    What: Wild edible plants, from nature to the table
    Where: 6665 Herborn Rosport-Mompach

    Luxembourg is home to a plethora of fauna, most of it non-edible but to the trained eye there is a whole world of culinary delight. In this workshop by the Nature and Forestry administration, you can learn to discover, identify, safely collect, and cook with multiple herbs and fruits. Eating local is always encouraged and you can’t get much more local than just on your doorstep.

    4. Hämmelsmarsch

    What: Traditional music march
    Where: Remich
    When: 2 May – more info here

    The Remich Music Society will once again perform the Hämmelsmarsch at the fair in Remich – a lively musical procession that signals the beginning of the celebrations. The Hämmelsmarsch is a traditional Luxembourgish custom in which the local music society parades through the streets, inviting residents and visitors alike to join the fair. Historically, the procession was led by a shepherd showcasing his best sheep.

    5. On the assault of Kirchberg

    What: Fortification tour
    Where: Musée dräi Eechelen, Kirchberg
    When: Saturday, 2 May – more info here

    A once-formidable network of fortifications – now largely disappeared following the Treaty of London in 1867 – once safeguarded Kirchberg and defended the fortress city. In 1684, engineer Vauban, who oversaw the siege operations, was commissioned to design plans to strengthen these defenses. Today, the museum provides guided tours of the remaining fortifications, lasting approximately two hours, the first of which is on Saturday and in English.

    6. Grund turns arty

    What: ‘Konscht am Gronn’ Art in the Grund
    Where: Grund, Luxembourg City

    An open-air gallery in the middle of Luxembourg’s beautiful old town, the Grund’s bridge will be rich with stands with local and international artists displaying their works. The exhibition has been around for over 20 years and offers a great insight into the local art scene to a beautiful backdrop.

    7. Live music

    What: Michael Patrick Kelly
    Where: den Atelier, Hollerich
    When: Thursday, 30 April – more info here

    With “TRACES”, Michael Patrick Kelly opens a new chapter, both musically and thematically. The album brings real-life stories of courage, healing, and hope to life, creating a deeply moving portrait of humanity. Blending pop, rock, and folk with touches of indie, Latin, and gospel, he crafts a sophisticated genre crossover.
