Bahamian auto racing prodigy Lenox Lockhart was once again making history from behind the wheel of a go-kart.
Coming off a top-10 finish at the 2026 WSK Euro Series last week, Lockhart returned to action, clinching another top-10 result at the 2026 Campionato Italiano ACI Karting (round one) in Lonato del Garda, Italy, over the weekend.
Lockhart, who represents Parolin Motorsport, came away with an eighth-place finish in the Mini Gr.3 finale. He completed his 10 laps in a time of 9:21.214. His best lap time was 54.665 seconds in the event. Overall, he finished with a total of 15 points for a 10th-place ranking.
Migueal Lockhart, the racer’s father, spoke about his son’s most recent performance.
“It was a strong weekend overall,” he said. “He showed front-running pace from qualifying and throughout most of the heats. One race didn’t go his way, but that’s part of racing at this level. The team did a great job, and to come away with P8 (eighth-place finish) gives us a solid foundation to build on.”
While competing at the event, Lockhart secured pole position and made history by becoming the first Bahamian to accomplish the feat in the European Championship series. He ended the qualifying session with a top time of 53.892 in Group A, which included 67 drivers.
The 10-year-old daredevil placed seventh in the Mini Gr.3 pre-final for Group A. He completed his 10 laps in 9:23.203. His best lap time was 54.686.
Prior to the most recent competition, Lockhart pulled off a seventh-place finish at round two of the 2026 WSK Series. He capped off the race in seventh in a time of 9:05.238.
Next up on Lockhart’s racing schedule is the 2026 IAME Grand National Championships, set for April 30 to May 3.
The event will take place at Trackhouse Motorplex in Mooresville, North Carolina.
