Libya and Tunisia have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at regulating the labour market and strengthening cooperation in vocational training.
The agreement was signed in Tunis by Libya’s Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, and Tunisia’s Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaoued. It focuses on modernizing training programs, establishing partnerships through the twinning of training centers, and facilitating the exchange of expertise between the two countries.
The deal also seeks to boost cooperation between the Libyan and Tunisian private sectors to support reconstruction and development efforts. Both sides highlighted the importance of enhancing economic integration and advancing digital transformation in labor procedures, confirming the adoption of the “Wafed” platform as the official channel for organizing labour recruitment and ensuring the legal rights of workers.
