The manager of the Inravisión-RTVC Public Media System, Hollman Morrisresponded to the request made by several candidates for the House of Nariño for a presidential debate to be held before the first round on May 31. He called them to a meeting.
Through a letter, Morris responded to the request signed by the candidates Sergio Fajardo, Claudia LópezLuis Gilberto Murillo, Roy Barreras, Carlos Caicedo, Mauricio Lizcano and Sondra Macollins to hold a presidential debate and called them to a meeting for this Thursday, April 30.

“I extend the invitation to you, personally or to whomever you wish to delegate, to participate in a meeting in person in order to specify the pertinent details. The meeting will be held this Thursday, April 30, from 10:00 to 11:00 am,” wrote the manager.
Morris’ letter comes after all seven candidates submitted a formal request for RTVC to run a presidential debate. They were based on article 23 of Law 996 of 2005, which states that if there is consensus, three televised debates of up to one hour in duration may be held.
In any case, the summons to the debate does not imply the mandatory attendance of any of the candidates, since the electoral law does not establish that the candidates have a commitment to debate.
For now, Iván Cepeda maintains his resistance to debate and has said that he only hopes to do so with Paloma Valencia and Abelardo de la Espriella and under clear rules previously established so as not to fall into the “spectacle.” He has indicated that he hopes to debate beyond the issue of total peace, a policy that has been harshly questioned during the government of President Gustavo Petro.
The Democratic Center candidate, for her part, has said she is ready to debate and is waiting for Cepede to appoint the delegates so that dates and rules can be defined.
