Jutarnji list – Zagreb schools evacuated again due to bomb threats

A new wave of reports of planted bombs arrived on Wednesday morning in several primary and secondary schools in Zagreb, as a result of which students and staff were evacuated from the school buildings, according to security protocols, and classes were interrupted in some schools. The Zagreb police confirmed that they are aware of the threats and that police officers are on the ground and conducting the usual checks. So far, there is no confirmation that any of the reports were real.

In the meantime, the Dubrovnik police arrested a 50-year-old man who is linked to false reports of bombs in two schools in Dubrovnik. According to the information available so far, the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest, and the criminal investigation should establish all the circumstances of the case.

“There are indications of where the reports came from”

At the same time, the police are trying to determine the source of the mass threats that have been coming to schools and other institutions in recent days. According to earlier reports, the trail leads to foreign servers and domains, which is why the investigation cannot be conducted only in Croatia, but includes cooperation with European partners, Europol and other competent services. Minister of the Interior Davor Bozinović he previously said there were indications of where the servers from which the threats were sent could be located.

We find out where the bomb threats are coming from: ‘The consequences are like a terrorist attack’

Let us remind you that on Monday, a series of reports about bombs continued, which turned out to be false. It is estimated that last week in five days in a row, more than 500 false reports were received at the addresses of schools, kindergartens and shopping centers throughout Croatia and at the Split airport.
