A series of uncomfortable questions
As reported by the portal Niezależna.pl, Minister Marcin Przydacz said that President Karol Nawrocki had authorized him to submit a written request to the government. He asked for full information “based on what facts Prime Minister Donald Tusk is presenting such far-reaching conclusions to the global public.” The letter, according to the minister, also requests an explanation as to how it is possible that such information reached the Prime Minister but not the President, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
The President also wants to know whether appropriate actions have been taken by the government.
“Depending on the information the government provides in response to the letter, the President will take further steps,”
Przydacz declared in an interview with Niezależna.pl.
The seriousness of Tusk’s statement
The letter was sent by the Chancellery of the President on Monday. The head of state expects a reply “without undue delay.”
“A Prime Minister’s statement should always be treated with the utmost seriousness. If he states plainly that in a few months, Poland and other European countries may face an attack from the Russian Federation, this must be approached with due diligence. If that is indeed the case, Poland should be preparing for appropriate measures. If it turns out that the Prime Minister is making such far-reaching statements merely to stir political emotions, then we are dealing with an irresponsible person,”
Przydacz told Niezależna.pl.
