On Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held the second round of political consultations with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by the Ministry’s Secretary-General, Ambassador Dhaifallah Al-Fayez, and the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Alexandra Papadopoulou.
The political consultations, which were held in Amman, discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields, in addition to regional developments.
On Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, discussed with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Yerapetritis ways to strengthen bilateral relations and developments in the situation in the region.
During a phone call, Al-Safadi Weerapetritis stressed the joint keenness to enhance the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, bilaterally, through the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Cyprus, and within the framework of the partnership with the European Union.
Al-Safadi Weerapetrits also stressed the importance of the political consultations that will be held today between the foreign ministries of the two countries, and the necessity of building on them.
They discussed developments in the regional situation, the prospects for ending the escalation, and the efforts made to achieve security and stability in the region.
