On March 13, the Goražde City Council adopted a decision to name the street dr. Dušanka Vujasić, a doctor of dentistry who, during the most difficult days of the war, showed exceptional courage and humanity, sharing her fate with the citizens of Goražde.
dr. Dušanka Vujasić, born in 1957 in Belgrade, moved to Goražde in the early eighties after her marriage and soon got a job at the Health Center as a dentist where she quickly gained the trust and respect of the patients. When the first shells started falling on Goražde in May 1992, she decided to stay at the Health Center where she worked and helped the citizens. It was easier for the woman from Belgrade to leave, but she was guided by the honorable principles of her medical calling and a sense of responsibility towards the people who needed her.
During the siege of the city, when health institutions worked in extremely difficult conditions, Vujasić, in addition to her basic job as a dentist, helped take care of the wounded and supported patients and colleagues in the hospital.
She died on April 27, 1993, when a shell hit the Health Center building, together with her colleague, dentist Hasan Imamović. She was six months pregnant at the time of her death. Their names, along with other colleagues, are carved on the memorial plaque at the Goražde Cantonal Hospital.
