“However, it was extremely important to talk in principle about how we can encourage cooperation in the field of defense, not with declarations, but with real work. We really want to take over the experience that Ukrainians have accumulated in the defense industry, that is, battle-tested equipment and technologies,” said the head of the country in a video commentary transmitted by the Presidency.
In Cyprus, he participated in an informal meeting of the European Council.
According to G. Nausėda, knowing that Ukrainians are interested in producing more both for themselves and for their partners, the conversation discussed what was needed to “start the mechanism”.
“I hope that together with the help of the Ministry of National Defense (KAM), we will establish those direct contacts with the army between those people who know best what needs to be done immediately, what needs to be done later, and then, I think, we can just wait for the results little by little,” said the head of the country.
