A hundred Italian chefs at Chelsea’s Old Town Hall in London made the longest tiramisu in the world and broke the Guinness World Record.
The dessert was 440.58 meters long, surpassing the previous record from 2019 set by the Galbani company in Milan, which was 273.5 meters.
During two days, using only fresh ingredients, the chefs prepared this traditional Italian dessert. About 19,000 eggs, 400 kilograms of sugar and 128,000 cookies were used to make it, and it took about five hours to put it together.
In the town hall, the news of the record breaking was met with enthusiasm, and the chefs and visitors celebrated with the Italian national anthem before the dessert was distributed to those present.
Among the participants of the event was chef Carmelo Carnevale, who pointed out that tiramisu must have certain dimensions in order to be recognized as a record.
He emphasized that the key to a good tiramisu is quality coffee, solid cream and, as he says, “a lot of passion”.
According to Guinness World Records rules, tiramisu is prepared and assembled live on site, with strictly defined standards and large quantities of ingredients, including tens of thousands of cookies and thousands of eggs.
