A vehicle was destroyed by fire on Sunday afternoon at the Trincity Mall KFC drive-thru in what police believe was caused by an electrical fault, authorities said.
According to police reports, around 4:30 p.m. a woman was at the wheel of her pink Nissan Tiida in the drive-through line when she attempted to brake.
The vehicle reportedly crept forward and made contact with the rear bumper of a white Kia Soul.
Police said both drivers exited their vehicles to inspect the minor collision when smoke was seen coming from the front grille of the Nissan Tiida. Moments later, the vehicle caught fire.
Officers from Traffic Highway Patrol Unit responded along with personnel from the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service.
Preliminary assessments by fire officials suggest the fire may have been caused by faulty electrical wiring.
No injuries were reported.
