US President Donald Trump said he is having “good talks” with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as he tries to end the war in Ukraine.
“We are working on the situation with Russia, Russia and Ukraine, and we hope to succeed,” Trump said in an interview with “The Sunday Briefing” on Fox News.
Trump, reports Reuters, did not want to reveal when he last spoke with Putin.
“I talk with him, and I talk with President Zelenski, and those are good talks,” he said, without specifying when those talks took place.
“The hatred between President Putin and President Zelensky is ridiculous. It is madness. And hatred is a bad thing. Hatred is bad when you are trying to solve something, but it will happen,” he said.
Trump has vowed to end the war that began with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, but the conflict is still ongoing, more than a year into his second term.
