Despite the scale of the success, Nassar remained critical of his form and hinted at even higher goals:
“This was not one of my most difficult competitions. Learned situation. In one idea, we drove lower revolutions at this championship. We were not the most prepared, but the competition was lacking. It will not be so easy at the Worlds and we have to prepare much better,” said the gold medalist.
Together with him, the bronze medalist in the category up to 110 kg, Hristo Hristov, came home. Bulgaria ends the championship with two titles (Nasar and Angel Rusev), one silver and two bronze.
In addition to the bars, Nassar also commented on football emotions. As a die-hard CSKA fan, he admitted his disappointment after the 1-3 loss to Levski: “I’m not happy when CSKA doesn’t win. There are obviously mistakes with a result like that, but I wouldn’t comment on the coach. We hope they keep winning soon,” he said.
Nassar revealed he will be in the stands for the second leg against Ludogorets for the Cup to inspire support for the Reds. After the gold in Batumi, his focus is now on the World Championships, where the bar will be raised as high as possible.
