AYOLAS. During her tour of the Ayolense district, where she participated in the launch of the candidacy for mayor and councilors for the Alianza Recuperemos el Paraíso, Senator Esperanza Martínez (PPC) indicated that she believes that behind Senator Hernán Rivas (ANR – HC) there would be some 2,500 titles that would involve important people. He indicated that next week a project will be presented for the creation of a special commission that will be in charge of unmasking the mafia of university degrees.

The legislator maintained that there is a large irregular structure and warned that they could “jumping very big fish” who currently receive high salaries within the public system. He mentioned institutions such as the Supreme Court of Justice, the Jury of Prosecution and the Ministry of Education as part of the area where people with questioned degrees would work.

“Let’s unmask, this was a great scam on Paraguayan society; there are more than 400 lawyers in those conditions. This is what is being protected with the case of Hernan Rivasthe mafia of the titles of very important people who are behind all this,” said the parliamentarian.

Esperanza Martínez visited the city of Ayolas.

At the same time, when asked about rumors surrounding the title of the vice president of the Republic, Pedro Allianapointed out that it corresponds to another university, but that it will also be subject to verification. He explained that the intention is to begin investigations with the Universidad Sudamericana, although it is not ruled out to include other institutions in case new complaints arise.

Finally, he stated that there would be collusion between several institutions, including the Ministry of Education, CONES, ANEAES, the Public Ministry and the Justice system. He pointed out that the fact that Hernán Rivas is acquitted of the charges against him evidences, in his opinion, a protection scheme similar to that observed in the so-called promissory note mafia.
