The Mashhad-Dushanbe flight of Varesh Airlines scheduled for April 24 did not take place. As Asia-Plus was told by the Iranian airline, the reason for the cancellation of the flight was that “one of the countries did not give permission for the plane to fly through its airspace.”
The company did not say which country banned the flight and why.
Airplane Varesh Airlines was supposed to fly from Mashhad and land at Dushanbe airport at noon on April 24, and fly back to Mashhad at 14:30 local time.
The Iranian airline said that after receiving permission to use the airspace, the flight is expected to resume on Tuesday or Friday next week.
Flights between Tajikistan and Iran were suspended on February 28 after the US and Israeli attack on Iran. The fighting, which affected almost all countries in the Middle East, continued until April 8, when US President Donald Trump announced a two-week truce. And on April 21, this truce was extended to allow for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
