FERDINANDOVCI – Lovro Kišiček, a young farmer from Ferdinandovac, for the past six months has often been faced with unusual thefts on his land opposite Lake Separacija along the road between Đurđevac and Ferdinandovac.
Namely, the thief is persistently targeting the electric shepherds that he installed to protect his crops from game animals. Instead of being worry-free, he points out, he is now in even greater trouble.
“Someone has been persistently stealing our electric shepherds for half a year. First they stole the solar panel that was used for power supply, then the electrical box that we bought in exchange for the solar, and now we are missing iron poles for the wire every now and then. We reported the thefts to the police, but the investigation still hasn’t yielded concrete results,” says Lovro.
Due to frequent thefts, the electric shepherd has no purpose, and Lovro is convinced that the thief places everything he takes from his land on his plot.
“I don’t believe that someone resells what they steal from us. The iron posts are not too valuable and I have no doubt that someone steals them for themselves. Since the thefts started, we have been damaged for around 1,000 euros. Someone stole a complete electric shepherd from our neighbor, so such thefts could obviously become a trend,” says Lovro Kišiček.
Given that the land on which the stairs “disappear” is next to the road itself, Lovro decided to offer a monetary reward to anyone who “leads” him to the thief with useful information.
“We are in a lot of pain because of these thefts and we just want to put an end to the thief. Anyone who has useful information can call my mobile number 091/621 8576. We will reward any useful information,” says Lovro.
In addition to thefts, he adds, damage to the electric shepherd on the land opposite Separation is also caused by reckless drivers.
In the past two years, Lovro had to repair shepherds twice because the drivers landed their cars on the land due to improper speed.
“We discovered one driver, while the other, who did more damage because he hit the shepherd again when returning to the road, we didn’t. And so now it’s not only wild game, but also reckless drivers and thieves who are causing damage to us,” concluded Lovro Kišiček, reports “Podravski“.
