UAEM Rectory demands to recover control of the Chamilpa campus

Cuernavaca, Mor.- The Autonomous University of the State of Morelos (UAEM) demanded to immediately resume the control and surveillance of the Chamilpa campusafter the acts of vandalism perpetrated by hooded men in the Law school during last weekend. With this measure, said the university authority, the aim is to curb the vulnerability of the institution’s academic and documentary heritage.

In the continuation of the Third Dialogue Table with the Student Resistance, which has kept the central facilities taken over since last March 4, the rector Viridiana León Hernández confirmed that the UAEM will present formal complaints and complaints to the corresponding authorities, because the damage transcends the infrastructure.

The viability of this agreement depends on the response issued by the movement “Student Resistance”this Wednesday. The student movement detonated in early March with the femicides of two of their university classmates.

The student group has already distanced itself from the damage that occurred at the Faculty of Law, however, the institution maintains pressure to recover the operational governance of the campus. The institutional priority, the authorities stated, is now focused on the file backup and the reactivation of internal surveillance to prevent new incursions by hooded groups that operate under anonymity.
