Thailand ready to make new investments in Myanmar

Thailand is ready to work closely with the Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee (TSMC) to support Thai businesses and to make new Thai investments in the future, according to Thai Ambassador to Myanmar Tor Saralamba.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Myanmar stated that Ambassador Tor Saralamba made these remarks during a meeting with U Soe Lin Han, Chairman of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee (TSMC), on 5 October.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance the operations of over 20 Thai businesses located in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone, noting that they have played a vital role in supporting Myanmar’s economy, according to the embassy’s statement.

Furthermore, the ambassador emphasized the importance of facilitating the import of essential raw materials to enhance supply chain security for Thai businesses and to boost Myanmar’s economic growth.
