Footballers from Železničar hosted Velež tonight in the match of the 31st round of the BiH Premier League, which ended with a score of 0:0.
Tonight’s match, announced as a fight for placement in Europe, was better than expected. Definitely, despite the fact that both of them were in spasms, he played relatively good football, although the tension was literally felt in every situation.
Velež opened the match better and after an initial test of strength and one half-chance, the guests scored their first chance in the 13th minute, but Muftić stopped Spahić’s shot.
This attempt seemed to wake up the home team a little, so in the following minutes, Odinak first tries, and then in the 18th minute, he crosses, the ball reaches Šabić after the defense of Karić, and Šabić’s shot hits the crossbar.
Salčin and Babić then tried for the guests before in the 25th minute Spahić shot from a long distance, and this time the crossbar saved the home team.
Both of them had a few more half-chances until half-time, but there was no change in the score. Željezničar started a bit more intensively in the second half, and in the 48th minute, Alić made a phenomenal attempt from a free kick, but the ball went just wide of the goal, with a roar from the stands.
Velež played a bit more closed in the second half, but that did not suit Željezničar too much, because it is not easy to break through the Velež defense in such circumstances. Alić shot again from a free kick, this time in the 66th minute, and again it was close, but not enough.
After that, the pace of the game dropped a little, until the 80th minute, when Krpić scored for a big celebration, which, however, was short-lived. The goal was disallowed for offside, so the score remained unchanged.
Velež now has 44 points, Željezničar 38, so it is clear that the fight for Europe is practically resolved.
