SAN MARINO – Two accommodation facilities in the Republic will make rooms available for students of the University of San Marino. Two letters of intent were signed with the Hotel MH Idesign, in Murata, and the Residence San Marino Antica Repubblica, in Dogana Bassa, to identify housing solutions pending the construction of the student residence envisaged by Law no. 87/2026 on Strategic Territorial Planning.
The initiative was born from the collaboration between the Secretariat of State for Territory and the Environment, the Secretariat of State for Education and Culture, the Secretariat of State for Tourism and University, with the aim of responding to the growing demand for accommodation linked to the increase in enrollments in bachelor’s and master’s degree courses.
The two participating structures are located near the main university buildings and will allow students to benefit from accommodation close to their places of study. Guests will also be connected to the University premises through the SMUVI service. The rental contracts will be stipulated directly between the students and the individual facilities.
The letters of intent start an experimental phase which may lead to the subsequent signing of an agreement between the accommodation facilities, the University and the competent Secretariats of State.
The two signatory structures have already responded positively to the recognition of availability in the area, while other entities have expressed interest. The possibility of new memberships by hotels, residences and owners of properties regularly intended for residential or hospitality use therefore remains open.
The administrations indicate a preference for rooms located in the Castles of the City of San Marino, Borgo Maggiore and Serravalle, but solutions may be proposed in any Castle of the Republic. Interested parties can contact the University of the Republic of San Marino directly, which will provide information and support on how to participate.
The objective is to progressively expand the offer of accommodation for university students, strengthening collaboration between public and private and contributing to the attractiveness of the University, also for students coming from outside the territory.
