The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force has given a positive assessment of security operations at the 2026 World Creole Music Festival, confirming that the three-night event came to an end without any major incidents. The announcement followed the deployment of police officers and other security personnel to safeguard the thousands of people attending the annual cultural celebration.
According to the Force, the outcome reflected the coordinated efforts of those responsible for maintaining order throughout the festival. Officers and security teams were commended for their commitment to protecting concertgoers, artistes and visitors, while organisers, partner agencies and members of the public were also recognised for their cooperation.
The latest assessment comes against the backdrop of security preparations reported ahead of the 2025 festival. At that time, Acting Police Chief Lincoln Corbette noted that activities during the Independence season had been peaceful up to October 23. He encouraged residents and visitors to continue demonstrating responsible behaviour to help preserve public order during the major entertainment event.
Security planning was also a major focus ahead of the 2024 festival. Deputy Police Chief Lincoln Corbette outlined arrangements that included a Venue Operations Centre, a police command post at Windsor Park Sports Stadium, additional officers and the suspension of rest days for members of the Force. He also pointed to the festival’s previous 23-year record without major incidents, which he said was supported by the police presence.
Unlike those earlier reports, which focused largely on preparations and expectations before the festivities, the 2026 statement offered a direct assessment after the event had concluded. The Police Force has reiterated that protecting the public remains a priority and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in ensuring that future national celebrations are conducted in a safe and orderly environment.
