President José Raúl Mulino announced that next Monday, November 2, it will sanction the law that establishes new discounts and benefits for retirees, pensioners and older adults in Panama.
On the afternoon of this Friday, October 30, the president reported, through his account on the social network X, that he received the document at the Palacio de las Garzas.
“I have just received in the Palace the law on discounts for retirees as agreed together with President Shirley Castañeda, deputies of the Commission and Minister Chapman. Monday I will proceed to the respective sanction”, Mulino published.
This is bill No. 746, which was approved in the third debate by the National Assembly this October 30, after almost a year of debates, meetings, modifications and consultations on the benefits that older adults will receive.
The president’s decision comes after representatives of retirees asked the Executive to expedite the sanction of the initiative so that the new discounts can come into effect.
Guillermo Cortés, president of the World Retirees Association, had asked Mulino, in a statement to The Star of Panamawhich would not delay the sanction of the proposal, considering that it represents economic relief for this sector of the population.
