Central Asia (CA) A meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Ankara on October 29.
The meeting took place on the eve of the 13th OTG summit, which will take place on October 30. The summit will be held under the motto “Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought and Deeds.”
According to the UTG press service, the meeting was chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
It was attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev, Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu. Turkmenistan was represented by Ambassador to Turkey Mekan Ishangulyev. The General Secretary of the UTG Kubanychbek Omuraliev also participated.
The meeting was joined by the chairman and members of the Council of Elders of the UTC, as well as heads of Turkic cooperation organizations, including TURKPA, TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the Turkic Investment Fund and the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Turkic States.
The participants discussed draft documents that will be presented for consideration by the Council of Heads of State at the 13th OTG summit. These include the Ankara Declaration and decisions aimed at strengthening cooperation and the institutional structure of the organization.
Kubanychbek Omuraliev presented a report on the results of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship and the activities of the ATC Secretariat. He noted the expansion of cooperation between member states and observers in more than 65 areas.
The ministers also reviewed draft decisions on the Alisher Navoi International Prize and the budgets of the Secretariat of the UTC and the Turkic Academy for 2027. In addition, they exchanged views on regional and international issues and priorities for the coming period.
At the end of the meeting, the ministers expressed gratitude to Kubanychbek Omuraliev for his contribution to the development of the organization and strengthening cooperation between the Turkic states in connection with the end of his term of office.
