the common ofI order has approved, in a session of the common council, an extraordinary credit of 1.2 million euros to acquire, through purchase and sale, a plot of land of 1,400 square meters located on the street of Santa Barbara. Consul General, Maria del Mar Comahas highlighted the strategic nature of the plot, which will allow to expand the availability of communal land in an area where the administration must also receive cession land linked to an action unit.
As explained by Coma, the acquisition will allow the common to have more surface in this area and study different options to take advantage of it. Although the land will initially be incorporated into the communal heritage, the aim is to reserve it for future municipal facilities, without ruling out a temporary use as a parking lot.
In this sense, the consul has pointed out that the first action, once the land is acquired, will be clear the plot to enable a parking area. “What we will do now, when we acquire the land, is to clean it and a series of cars will enter that area,” he explained. The new space would allow a capacity of around twenty vehicles, as mentioned by the junior consul, Eduard Betriu.
theopposition has voted in favor because they consider that the purchase is at a good price and because of the possibilities it will give. “When we were called and consulted, at that moment when we saw the price, we said that we were in complete agreement and that we thought that buying heritage for the common is always good”, argued the councilor to the opposition Henry sweet.
The will of the opposition would be that this space be used to make one vertical parking due to the lack of parking that is in the parish. “What we think is the most appropriate is to look for solutions for the parish parking lot, which is really a problem we have had for a long time, but we know that it also happened to us in the other parking lot, which we knew wanted to be done with several floors and given the current increase in prices it will be difficult to make a parking lot with several floors,” said the minister in the minority, Jordina Bringué.
This possibility has been practically ruled out by the municipal government, since making a vertical car park requires more budget. “We also couldn’t do vertical parking because despite being from 1,000 square metersif we do vertical parking we need ramps. I don’t know how good a vertical car park would be,” Coma admitted.
One of the options that the common is studying is to join the new land with the parking lot that is currently next to it. This possibility, however, requires analyzing its feasibility and starting negotiations with the owner of the land where the existing car park is located, which is currently rented and has a five-year contract starting in 2024according to the declarations of the consul.
In addition, the connection between the two plots would entail technical difficulties, since the new land is located on one considerably lower elevation than the current parking lot. For this reason, it would be necessary to execute previous works before being able to unify the two spaces. Coma has noted that this option has not yet been negotiated with the owners and that, therefore, there is no final decision on the extension. For now, the priority is condition the acquired land so that it can accommodate vehicleswhile longer-term possibilities are being studied.
The acquisition also has an urban planning dimension. With the purchase, the corporation will become part of the corresponding action unit and will be able to dispose of the plot acquired, in more of the land that belongs to him in the concept of urban transfer. The consul has recalled that the cessions correspond to the 15% of the surface area of the performance unit. In this way, the new property will allow more communal land to be concentrated in this sector.

The municipality of Ordino has awarded for 497,000 euros the construction of the Serrat forest biomass ship, which it will be used to store and transform wood from forest management into chips of the parish to finish feeding the boiler of the sports center.
The minor consul, Eduard Betriu, has emphasized that the award allows to unblock a project that had been stopped after the first competition was abandoned due to the high prices. In this second tender, a company submitted an offer that was adjusted to the expected amount, although an additional provision was needed to cover the increase in cost.
The municipal body plans to start the works in the spring of 2027, with a deadline of eighteen weeks since replanting. In the meantime, wood is already being stored in the Serrat plot to dry before being turned into chips.
