Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the ranks of the Portugal national team, after a huge uproar resulting from sharp disagreements with national coach Jorge Jesus.
Striker Ronaldo left the Portugal national team on September 30, in protest against coach Jesus not employing him in official interviews.
Ronaldo was forced to watch the match between Portugal and the Norwegian host from the bench, on the 27th of last September, as part of the second round of the group stage of the European Nations League competition.
After leaving the camp, it was reported at the time that the 41-year-old native of Madeira would retire from international football. Before the Portuguese Football Federation intervened to calm the two parties and dispel the differences between Ronaldo and Jesus.
The Portuguese newspaper “Ojogo” reported on Monday evening that Ronaldo will return and participate in the national team’s training camp for next November. Pointing out that Jorge Jesus included him in a preliminary list of players.
The Portugal national team will face Denmark and Gaul on the 14th and 17th of next November, for the last two rounds of the group stage of the European Nations League competition.
These two matches are considered “formal”, given that the Portuguese national team tops the group’s standings and has previously qualified for the quarter-finals, scheduled for March 2027.
