National Bank of Dominica (NBD) recently congratulated its very own accountant, Samantha Bazil of Wesley, who was crowned the 2026 Miss Wob Dwiyet and vowed to make it a win for the community.
Miss Bazil copped the awards for Best in Wob Dwiyet and the People’s Choice Awards during a competition held at the Massacre indoor facility on Wednesday.
“The National Bank of Dominica Ltd. extends heartfelt congratulations to our valued team member Samantha Bazil,” the bank said in a congratulatory message. “We are proud to celebrate her victory in capturing the title of Miss Wob Dwiyet 2026.”
She said during an interview shortly after her victory that this win is not just for herself; it is a win for “Team NBD.”
“It was a long journey, but I am truly grateful, and the results paid off…,” she stated. Your support really pushed me to this win.”
She plans to push more culture in her village.
“I want more people from the northeastern district to be able to go up for these pageants and represent,” Bazil noted.
Deniscia Laurent of Petite Soufriere secured the first runner-up spot. She won the awards for Best Performing Talent, Best in Creole Spectacular Wear, and Miss Photogenic.
Portsmouth resident Ta-Donna Cornelius of Portsmouth placed third, and Addisa Jno Baptiste of Roseau placed fourth.
