Haitian-American content creator Jessie Woo offered an enthusiastic endorsement of Dominica during the World Creole Music Festival’s (WCMF) pre-event press conference, describing the island as a “magical land.”
Woo said it was her third visit to Dominica but her first time attending the festival.
The trip also marked the first occasion on which her mother had accompanied her, giving the visit added personal significance.
Woo spoke about watching her mother try kayaking and make the journey to the Emerald Pool despite difficulties with her back and walking.
Her account focused on the experiences they had shared and the warmth of the welcome they received.
She praised Dominica’s people and said she looked forward to spending more time on the island whenever possible.
Woo also expressed excitement about seeing Dominican performers at the festival, including TK International and Signal Band’s Shelly.
Her appearance formed part of a wider gathering of visiting content creators and influencers invited to experience the country and share its culture with their audiences.
Meanwhile, Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Marva Williams encouraged those visitors to help show the festival to the world.
