Employees of the Dushanbe State Traffic Inspectorate have been trained in the use of modern chest-mounted video cameras. The training was conducted as part of the police reform program and with the support of the OSCE.
During the training, inspectors became familiar with the functionality of the devices and the rules for their use in official activities, reports Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Dushanbe.
As part of the program, 60 bodycams were handed over to the capital’s police, which will be used by officers while on duty.
The devices are capable of continuous video and audio recording for up to 24 hours, provide high quality shooting and are designed to operate in various weather conditions, including moisture, heat and cold.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the introduction of such technologies will strengthen control over the work of employees, increase the transparency of their activities and strengthen citizens’ trust in law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, in November 2025, within the framework of the OSCE project 24 cameras have already been handed over to the capital’s traffic police officers. The OSCE also noted then that the project is aimed at increasing the transparency of the work of law enforcement officers and citizens’ trust in them.
“Records from the cameras will be used for training and internal investigations,” the organization’s office noted.
At the moment, the project is being implemented only in Dushanbe, and based on the results of testing, a decision will be made to implement the system in other regions.
