Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is in Islamabad, where he held a number of meetings with the top leadership of Pakistan.
On the morning of April 25, Araghchi met with the commander of the Pakistani army, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and outlined Iran’s position on ending the war between the Islamic Republic and the United States. reports AR.
Araghchi said Tehran will continue to participate in Pakistan-led mediation efforts “until a result is achieved.”

After this, Araghchi held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief Asim Munir were also present at the meeting.
Details of the negotiations are not yet available, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement. it just saysthat the current regional situation and the state of bilateral relations were discussed.
At meetings in Islamabad, Araghchi conveyed a message through Pakistani intermediaries to the United States about the need to stop “threats and policies of pressure,” writes Independent Persian with reference to their sources. The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry outlined Tehran’s demands and confirmed its commitment to the 10-point plan previously presented by the Iranian side.
Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan amid uncertainty surrounding the continuation of Iran-US negotiations. After the White House announced the shipment in Islamabad on April 25, special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, official Iranian representatives statedthat there will be no meeting with the US delegation.
After negotiations with the Pakistani leadership, Araghchi will immediately go to Oman and then to Russia. Araghchi himself clarified the goals of his regional tour like this:
“I am going on a visit to Islamabad, Muscat and Moscow. The purpose of these trips is close coordination with our partners on bilateral issues and consultations on regional events. Our neighbors are among our priorities.”
Meanwhile, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt told Fox News that Witkoff and Kushner still plan to meet with Araqchi in Islamabad and hold informal talks.
