PDK one step closer to changing the law on the Special, it only needs the majority of deputies present in the hall for approval

A two-hour meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, seems to have been successful regarding the PDK’s request to change the law on the Special Court. This is because, on Friday night, the Government of the country issued a decision in which it was assessed that the initiative to change the Special Law has no legal obstacles.
In the announcement, it was also announced that the government’s decision will be forwarded to the Assembly.
Thus, PDK’s request is closer to achieving its goal, after several days of calls for the same to be processed in parliament.
In fact, the PDK themselves had stated on many occasions that the approval of this law is primary for them, and that only after its passage, they would discuss the election of the president, an issue that is also seen as problematic.
However, now, in addition to the other procedures that the draft law must go through, such as the discussion, it must receive votes in the Assembly, where simple majority votes are sufficient for its approval.
