The Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Jackeline Muñozreported that the entity’s inspectors are evaluating the safety conditions on the different fronts of the work and that the Inspection Director must present the corresponding reports.
“While all fronts are paralyzed at this moment and will continue to be paralyzed until the necessary corrective measures are taken.“said Muñoz.
The minister explained that, once the results of the inspections are known, it will be up to those responsible for the project implement corrective measures before authorizing the resumption of work.

Muñoz detailed some of the deficiencies found during inspections on the project.

In the incident, a worker fell from a platform of approximately two meters high while working on the project.
He Panama Fourth Bridge Consortium reported that the worker was wearing his personal protective equipment, received first aid at the scene and was later transferred to a medical center.
According to the consortium, the worker is stable, with injuries under control and not serious.
Muñoz also recalled that the project has a history of accidents and pointed out that there have been three fatalities. He indicated that Mitradel had previously requested to review and reinforce security measures and that in recent months stoppages have been ordered on different fronts.
