SAN MARINO – The military attaché of the Indian Embassy in Rome, colonel Rohan Falnikarconcluded in San Marino a four-day tour dedicated to the places in Central Italy linked to the memory of the Indian soldiers who fell during the Liberation of Italy.
Accompanied by the historian Daniele Cesarettiexpert on the Italian Campaign 1943-1945, Falnikar he crossed four regions, meeting several mayors and visiting some of the areas where the Indian military fought against the Nazi-fascist forces during the Second World War.
Among the meetings there was also one with the mayor of Rimini Jamil Sadegholvaadduring which the hypothesis of an Italian-Indian project dedicated to historical memory which could also involve the Republic of San Marino was discussed.
The link with Titan dates back to September 1944, when the 4th Indian Division operated on the territory of San Marino. Precisely for this reason, before returning to Rome, Falnikar carried out a reconnaissance at the Monte Pulito Memorial, the final stage of the route dedicated to the places of presence and sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the Italian Campaign.
