Parents of the family Almirante Guise Naval High School and other schools held a sit-in this Sunday, September 20, outside the Naval Center of Peruin San Borja, to demand justice for the 16-year-old teenager who reported having been the victim of an alleged sexual assault.
The protesters came dressed in white and demanded that the facts be clarified and responsibilities determined. One of the participating mothers pointed out that the mobilization seeks justice for what happened.
“So that justice is done for this crime that has been committed”he stated.
Another father asked the authorities and the parents of the adolescents under investigation to become aware of the seriousness of the situation.
“Let them put themselves in the role of parents, let the full weight of the law fall. To parents, tell them to always accompany their children and not be intimidated by anyone”he expressed.
The case originated from a complaint filed after an event that occurred on September 15, when students were returning from a sports activity on a school bus.
In the last few hours, the Third Family Court of Lima issued four months of preventive detention for six teenagers investigated for their alleged participation in the case. The minors were referred to the Lima Youth Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Center, known as Maranguita.
