HARARE, Zimbabwe – West Indies Women are set to take on Zimbabwe Women in a historic One Day International and T20I series beginning next week.
Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed on Friday that they will host the Windies Women in a three-match ODI series as part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
It will be followed by a T20I series consisting of as many games, marking the first time the two teams square off against each other in a bilateral series, across formats.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has yet to announce a squad for the white-ball tour, which will see the ODI series being played at the Harare Sports Club from September 24 to 30, while the T20Is will be contested between October 3 and 7 at the Takashinga Cricket Club.
Zimbabwe are currently 10th in the Women’s Championship standings with six defeats from as many outings in the current cycle.
West Indies on the other hand are fifth, with four wins from the nine matches they have played so far. The visitors will arrive on the back of a 3-0 sweep against Ireland.
