“After completing analyses and substantive work at the National Security Bureau, and in line with earlier announcements, President of Poland Karol Nawrocki has moved to the formal and legal stage directly leading to the declassification and public release of the Annex to the Report on the Liquidation of the Military Information Services (WSI),” presidential spokesperson Dr. Rafał Leśkiewicz informed.
The president’s spokesperson delivered the long-awaited update. Only final adjustments remain before presenting to the public the appropriately anonymized annex to the Report on the Liquidation of the Military Information Services, prepared in accordance with rulings of the courts and the Constitutional Tribunal. Karol Nawrocki submitted it “for opinion by the Speakers of the Sejm and the Senate.”
“The opinions, which are not binding on the President of the Republic of Poland, are a formal element of the process leading to the declassification and public release of the Annex to the WSI Report,” emphasized Dr. Rafał Leśkiewicz.
The president’s associates commented on the decision on social media
“The final touch… we’re almost there!” wrote the head of the National Security Bureau, Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, on platform X.
“President Karol Nawrocki has made a formal decision to begin the process of declassifying the annex to the WSI liquidation report. This is another step toward breaking with the post-communist ‘legacy’ in Poland after the removal of the Round Table from the Presidential Palace. Bravo,” wrote Adam Andruszkiewicz.
