The head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, has brought charges against the AMG Food company, whose containers were seized with 41 kg of drugs a few days ago in the Port of Durrës.
During his speech in the Assembly, Bardhi said that this company has benefited about 1 million euros from the funds of the IPARD program.
According to Bardhi, the company, established in 2019, was announced as a beneficiary of IPARD funds in 2021 and the financing was received in 2023.
He says that it is about 1 million euros of funds, financed by the European program for the support of agriculture.

The grant, i.e. the gift fund from the money of the European taxpayers of the IPARD program: about 1 million euros. Public sponsor since 2021: the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama. In 2021, Edi Rama went personally to promote the company as one of the investments financed by IPARD, which would increase food safety, production standards and the possibility to export to the European market. In March 2025, to add to the company’s record, the dumping of 8 tons of salmonella meat on the Albanian market was discovered. In September 2026, cocaine traffic was also included in the company’s record.
So, with the Prime Minister of Albania as a public sponsor, the government financed with the taxes of the citizens of the European Union, a business which, together with the frozen chickens from Brazil, brought to Albania, three days ago, 41 kilograms of cocaine”, Bardhi says among other things.
